The Longmont Museum presents Planina in its beautiful, state-of-the-art, Stewart Auditorium. Planina will present a bouquet of songs from Eastern Europe, including several that celebrate the coming of spring and the Russian festival of Maslenitsa, dating back to a pagan celebration with songs designed to summon the spring. Other songs will be from Bosnia, Bulgaria, Georgia and Macedonia. Poignant tunes will be interspersed with light-hearted dance tunes.
